KSU/Basta presents a reading and discussionevening on the events in Cologne on New Year's Eve and the response to it in society and the media.

The numerous sexual assaults against women on the night of New Year’s Eve in Cologne and other German cities have sparked a big debate in the last months. Unfortunately the argument has been hijacked by the far-right, distorted and used to justify the anti-immigration agenda. The discussion revolves around hatefully attacking immigrants and European muslims rather than the effective measures for the victims of sexual assault. [node:read-more:link]

Islamofobie - Waar komt racisme tegen moslims vandaan?

In samenwerking met Critical Collective organiseert MSV Nijmegen een lezing over Islamofobie.

Onderzoek laat zien dat racisme tegen bevolkingsgroepen uit de islamitische wereld al jaren toeneemt in Nederland en elders.
Met de opkomst van de zelfverklaarde Islamitische Staat (ISIS/ ISIL) lijken extreem rechtse groepen weer een argument rijker tegen moslims. Dagelijks schrijven media en politici terrorisme en vrouwenhaat aan islam toe.

In deze lezing vragen we ons af:
