[Amsterdam] Boekpresentatie 'De Frontlinie' met benefiet

Deze avond staat in het teken van het verzet tegen de neoliberale stad. We beginnen deze avond met een presentatie van een nieuw boek 'De Frontlinie' over bestaansonzekerheid en gentrificatie en daarna vieren we het verzet daartegen door middel van benefiet voor Bond Precaire Woonvormen. Bond Precaire Woonvormen is al sinds 2010 bezig met strijden tegen de flexibilisering van huisvesting en komt op voor het groeiende aantal (tijdelijke) huurders in precaire situaties. Alle inkomsten en donaties gaan deze avond naar BPW.

Een avond met steun, kennis, poëzie door dichters Doeko L. en Renk van Oyen. En muziek tot in de late uurtjes met o.a. Bacchanalia (psychadelische cumbia).

Het dossier De Frontlinie: Bestaansonzekerheid en gentrificatie in de Creatieve Stad, samengesteld door Roel Griffioen, onderzoekt de relatie tussen nieuwe ontwikkelingen in het cultuurbeleid en de gentrificatiepolitiek die de Nederlandse steden steeds duurder en ontoegankelijker maakt. Wat is de functie van goedkoop gefabriceerde creativiteit in een politiek-economisch systeem dat bestaansonzekerheid creëert en oogst, een stedelijk beleid dat gentrificatie stimuleert, een cultuurbeleid dat ‘nuttige’ kunst aanmoedigt, en een woonbeleid dat wonen onzekerder maakt? Met bijdragen van Pascal Gielen, Abel Heijkamp, Adelita Husni-Bey, Frank Keizer, Łukasz Koterba, Isabell Lorey, Herbert Ploegman, Bent Vande Sompele, Rufus de Vries en Claudia Zeller. This evening we will celebrate the resistance against the neoliberal city. We will start with a presentation of a new book 'De Frontlinie' on precarity and gentrification and then we will celebrate the resistance against it through a benefit-party for Bond Precaire Woonvormen. Bond Precaire Woonvormen has been busy since 2010 fighting against the flexibilization of housing and to support tenants in precarious situations in the Netherlands. All donations this evening will support their ongoing campaign.

There will be talks, poetry and afterwards music till late with a.o. Bacchanalia (psychadelic cumbia).

"De Frontlinie: Bestaansonzekerheid en gentrificatie in de Creatieve Stad" (edited by Roel Griffioen) is a collection of critical essays exploring the intersections of recent art and housing policies, state-led gentrification, and the emergence of a “creative underclass.” With texts by Roel Griffioen, Abel Heijkamp, Adelita Husni-Bey, Frank Keizer, Lukasz Koterba, Isabell Lorey, Herbert Ploegman, Claudia Zeller, an interview with Pascal Gielen, drawings by Bent Vande Sompele and a photo essay by Rufus de Vries.

This publication also marks the launch of Frontlinie.org an online platform for reflections on the culture industry in the neoliberal city.
