[Nijmegen] Premiere: Lesvos: beautiful prison

Premiere van de documentaire Lesvos: beautiful prison op zaterdag 16 september in Nijmegen. De screening zal plaats vinden in het Dobbelmannklooster (Dobbelmannweg 1, Nijmegen).

In de lente van 2017 is de documentairemaakster ter ondersteuning van migranten naar Lesvos gegaan om daar een documentaire te maken over hun verhaal. Daar zag zij de donkere kant van de handhaving van EU-beleid. Toch zag ze daar ook de positieve kan van ongelovelijke mensen, strijders, activisten, locals en vluchtelingen.

Deels nog in gedachten en emoti, neemt de documentairemaakster je mee op reis en deelt informatie en inspiratie over de huidige situatie op het Griekse eiland, een "prachtige gevangenis". Ontmoet Cris, Xenia, Alice, Nora en Casey. Zij laten ons zien hoe het leven is, gezien door de ogen van een local, vluchteling en activist.

In spring, I went to Lesvos to support migrants on the move and to make a documentary. I've seen the darkness of enforced EU policy. And I've seen the light of incredible humans, fighters, activists, locals and refugees.Partly, I am still there with my thoughts and emotions.

Let me take you there and let’s share information and inspiration about the current situation that makes a Greek island a beautiful prison.
